About
Background
Most technical advisors have either built startups or worked in enterprise. I’ve done both, often in the same year.
I founded companies through Entrepreneur First and Google for Startups, raised venture capital, and learned what it means to ship when runway is measured in months. I’ve also architected systems for Verizon, AT&T, and Deliveroo—environments where reliability isn’t a feature, it’s table stakes.
This matters because growth-stage companies need someone who can move fast without breaking everything. Someone who knows when to reach for proven solutions and when to build something new—and that the goal of any engagement is to leave the organization stronger than I found it.
Select Experience
CTO Roles Decloud (cloud infrastructure), CityFalcon (financial news/ML), Dropbyke (shared mobility before Lime and Bird existed). In each case: building teams, shipping product, navigating board dynamics.
Enterprise Consulting Verizon and AT&T (network telemetry systems), Deliveroo (retail integrations), PubNub (Rust SDK architecture), Formance (financial core infrastructure). Systems that process at scale with compliance requirements to match.
Founder Voymigo (travel, venture-backed), v0 (agency, pre-Vercel’s v0, bootstrapped to six-figure revenue). Building from zero teaches you what actually matters.
Values
Discipline over heroics. Sustainable systems come from daily rigor.
Ruthless focus. Saying no is the job.
Write it down. Clarity scales better than talent.
Approach
I work according to a few principles that have proven durable across dozens of engagements:
Privacy and security by design. These are architectural decisions, not compliance checkboxes. I’ve implemented systems under GDPR, SOC2, HIPAA, and MiFID II—the constraint shapes the solution.
Building for sustainability. Every engagement should leave the organization with people and processes that can thrive independently.
Async-first communication. Distributed teams work best with written communication and intentional synchronous time. This is particularly true for advisory relationships where context must be preserved across weeks, not days.
Measured pragmatism. Security, stability, performance—in that order. I default to proven solutions, but when innovation serves the goal, I’m not afraid to build something new. Strong opinions, loosely held.
